Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMICHAEL SOKOL May 12, 1916 - June 1, 2004 Peacefully at Seven Oaks Hospital, after a lengthy illness, Michael Sokol, 88 years of age is finally at rest. Michael will be dearly missed by his wife, of 63 years, Gertrude; son Neville (Ann) daughter Simone (Ken) grandchildren, Jacqueline Sokol, Charity and Ethan Kosc; stepgrandchildren, Jeff Kosc, Lisa Harrison (nee Kosc). He also leaves numerous nieces and nephews. Michael was predeceased by his parents, Dmytro and Pearl; brothers, William and Steven; sisters, Sharon Crane and Mary Moynihan. Michael was a veteran of the Second World War, serving his country for five years overseas. He then returned to work at Winnipeg Transit for 35 years until retirement. In the early years of St. Josephs Ukrainian Catholic Church, Michael was an active member. His passions were camping and in later years, spending time at the cottage and especially bringing humour and a smile to everyone and everywhere he went. A special thank you to Dr. Patricia Harris, Dr. L. Chung and all of the caring and loving staff at Seven Oaks for making a long hard journey a little easier to bear. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, June 4 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Josephs Ukrainian Catholic Church, 250 Jefferson Ave. with Rev. Fr. Raymond Lukie officiating. Interment to follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
