Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET DIXON (nee HINDS) Our family is deeply saddened by the passing of our loving mother and grandmother on May 10, 2004. Mom was born December 18, 1913, at the family home on Matheson Avenue. Picnics to Kildonan Park, train rides to the beaches and boat trips on the Red River were among her happy childhood memories. She attended Luxton and Machray School and St. Johns Tech. After high school she was employed by the T. Eaton Co. where she made many lifelong friends. Mom married our dad Lawrence on September 3, 1938, and they shared 48 years together. A loving wife and mother, she devoted her life to the care of her family. Summers were spent at the cottage at Petersfield where Mom and Dad often entertained their many friends. After Dad retired, they took several trips to England, visiting relatives in Liverpool and Brighton. Mom was delighted when she became a grandmother. She rarely missed her grandchildrens school concerts or sports events, and was proud to attend both of their graduations. In her later years Mom enjoyed playing whist and crib with the social club at her apartment block. She was an avid curling fan and followed all the curling events on TV. Moms baking was truly delicious and, even when in her 80s, baked apple pies as a special treat for her son-in-law, and brownies for her grandchildren. Mom was predeceased by her husband Lawrence; and brother Harold Hinds. She leaves to mourn her passing and to cherish her memory son Wayne; daughter Valerie (Dave) Conley and their children, Jennifer and Andrew; brother Walter Hinds. She is also survived by numerous other relatives and dear friends. A graveside service will be held at Chapel Lawn on June 12 at 11:00 a.m.
