Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySAMUEL MINTENKO Peacefully at home on Thursday, June 3, 2004, Samuel Mintenko, 82 years passed away. Sam was predeceased by his first wife Rose (nee Pfeifer) his five brothers, George, Al, Bill, Victor & Nick. Sam is survived by his loving wife Mabel; her daughter & son-in-law, Jeannie & Barry Sinder; two grandsons, Jordan and Matteo; also sister, Muriel and brother Paul as well as several nieces and nephews. Sam served his country proudly during the Second World War as a soldier with the Princess Patricias Canadian Light Infantry. He was wounded in Italy and in Holland and received numerous medals for his service. Sam was employed with Swift Canadian for several years. Sam enjoyed gardening and was especially proud of his roses. He loved his weekends at the lake with Mabel and their many friends. Grampa loved spending time with his grandsons and watching their sports activities. Flowers are graciously declined. Donations may be made in Sams memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 200 - 6 Donald Avenue, Winnipeg, MB. R3L 0K6 or a charity of your choice. Service will be held on Monday, June 7, in Green Acres Funeral Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Fr. John Melnyk officiating.
