JOAN BOWLER 1923 - 2004 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Joan Bowler on Sunday, June 6, 2004, at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, at the age of 81. She will be dearly missed by her son James (Janet) her daughter Margaret (Susan) her only grandchild Aaron (Marsha) as well as her many friends in Winnipeg and in Teulon. Joan was predeceased by her husband Eddie, and her sister Ada. Joan was born and raised in Middlesborough, England and immigrated to Canada in 1957. Joan and Eddie moved to Teulon in 1977 to enjoy their retirement. Joan was employed at the Health Sciences Centre, as well as Goodwin Lodge in Teulon. She was a longtime member of the Teulon Golf & Country Club, bowled weekly in Stonewall, and was a volunteer, reading with children at the elementary school. She loved to read, and was a frequent visitor to the Teulon library. The family would very much like to thank everyone at the Health Sciences Centre SICU, especially Jackie, who gave Joan such warm, compassionate and professional care. Keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at Teulon MacKenzie Funeral Chapel on Thursday, June 10, 2004, commencing at 11:00 a.m. A short lunch reception will follow.
