Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHECTOR JARED MORROW It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Hector Jared Morrow, on June 5, 2004 in Victoria, BC. He is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Virginia, and his sons, David Morrow (Judy) of Palmdale, CA, Jim Morrow (Alison Smith) of Toronto, and daughter Susan Morrow (David Hewlett) of Winnipeg. "Grampie" will be deeply missed by his grandchildren, Cara and Jared (Rachel) Morrow, Dylan, Sean and Michael Hewlett, and Jeffrey and Paul Morrow. Hector was born in Fargo, North Dakota on May 17, 1913. He began a long career with Northwest Airlines in 1942 and worked in Alaska, New York City, Minneapolis and Winnipeg, where he was the airlines station manager from 1951 until his retirement in 1975. Hector was always involved in some way in community service. In Winnipeg, he was on the national board of directors of the Multiple Sclerosis Society. He was a lifelong Kiwanian, and in Victoria he was a member of the Oak Bay Probus Club. His loves apart from his family were gardening, fishing and bridge, and he excelled at all. Hector was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1948, at the age of 35. He was a remarkable testament to the possibilities of living fully with a physical disability, and exemplified the attitude of seeing opportunities rather than obstacles in life. A celebration of his life will be held in Victoria on Thursday, June 10 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Memorial Chapel, 4725 Falaise Dr. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Greater Victoria Multiple Sclerosis Society, 1004 North Park St., Victoria, BC V8T 1C6.
