BARBARA REID Barbara Reid passed away at the Carewest Sarcee Nursing Home on June 5, 2004 after a brief but valiant struggle with cancer. Barbara will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Pat (Leo) Saccary, Barbara Reid and Bernice (Ken) Toon; grandchildren, Allan (Mary-Lou), Kevin (Trina) and Shawn (Michelle) Saccary, Carolyn Reid and Adam Toon; as well as great-grandchildren, Erica and Leo Saccary and Mason. She was predeceased by her husband Hugh in 1986. Barbara was born on January 14, 1924 and raised in Winnipeg. She met Hugh and they were married after his return from the war in 1945. Barbara and Hugh lived in several provinces and in Europe during Hughs service with the R.C.A.F. In 1969 they returned to Winnipeg. They enjoyed many friendships throughout the years. Barbara moved to Calgary in 1988 to be closer to her children and again she kindled many new friendships. An evening of visitation will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home, Calgary on Wednesday, June 9 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at St. Andrews United Church, 924 Heritage Dr. SW, Calgary, on Thursday, June 10 at 3:00 p.m. Interment will be held at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Winnipeg, on Friday, July 30 at 1:00 p.m. If so desired, memorial tributes may be made in Barbaras name directly to the Canadian Cancer Society, 2nd floor, 215-12 Avenue SE, Calgary, AB T2G 1A2.
