LIL SIMKIN Lil Simkin passed away peacefully on Monday, June 7, 2004 at Victoria General Hospital at the age of 86 with her family by her side. Born on May 17, 1918 in Calgary, AB. She and her husband Jim raised their family in Winnipeg before moving to Palm Springs, CA. They lived there for 28 years while spending their summers in Winnipeg and Falcon Lake. Lil was active with the Peretz School and Talmud Torah while her children attended both schools and was a member of National Council of Jewish Women and Hadassah Wizo. She took great pride in the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren. She moved to The Waverley where she made many new friends who greatly enriched her final years and with whom she enjoyed meals, visits and bridge games. She continued to keep in contact with her extended family and friends, near and far. The family would like to thank her physicians, Dr. Robyn Olson, Dr. Karen Boyd and Dr. Ruth Simkin, and all the staff on 5-North at the Victoria General Hospital for their kindness and consideration during her stay. She appreciated all of the visits, calls and letters from her family and friends. She is survived by her children and their spouses, her grandchildren, her sisters, Pearl Kass (Miami, FL) and Sara Donin, her in-laws, Jen Cohen, Abe and Fan Simkin, Myna Simkin (Palm Springs, CA), Rosetta Isenstein (Calgary, AB), numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
