Date of Passing: Jun 05, 2004
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVIOLET ROSALINE HENRY It is with profound and indescribable sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, auntie and best friend Violet Henry on June 5, 2004 after a lengthy battle with cancer at the age of 60 years with her family by her side. Mom was predeceased by her mother (Ann) father (Alexander) siblings, George, Harry, Wilfred, Lawrence, Stella, Ruby and Terry. Remaining to forever cherish her loving memory are her children, Dwayne, Tammy, Darren (Phyllis), Randy (Kathy) and Bonnie; her grandchildren, Dean, Jhanine, Brandi, Darren Jr., Codey, Tesse, Dustin, Dareck, Jesse, Melina, Rico, Robbie, Tyler and Levi; her great-grandchildren, Santana and Violet and her siblings, Mary, Bertha, Alvina, Danny (Ursala), Ed (Lena), Maurice (Fran) and Len (Dar). Mom was a quiet gentle spirit. She will be sadly missed for her loving ways, her sense of humour, and her kindness and generosity to everyone. She was blessed with and shared her gift of unconditional love with all she came in contact with. She always displayed a love for her children, family and friends which was evident in her daily phone calls to them. Moms hobbies were to sing and play guitar. She had the voice of an angel. In her spare time she enjoyed bingo and casino. Mom dedicated her life to helping her children, both as a mother and as a friend (Mom was the best friend we had). She lived her life with the heart and soul of an angel and the strength and courage of a lion, and never faltered from those convictions. We would like to thank all of the doctors, nurses, aides and staff at St. Boniface Palliative Ward, Cancer Care, Palliative Care and Womens Hospital for all the love, support and dedication they gave mom and the family. Each of you have touched moms life in a special way during her illness. Thanks to Father Paradis for all the visits, ceremonies and prayers. Special thanks to Nina, Louise, Roseanne, Janice, Anne, and Mohammed for all the extra help each of you gave during this hard time. The family would like to say thank you to all, which are too numerous to mention, who have touched moms life. Pallbearers will be Brad Magee, Dean, Darren Jr., Codey, Dustin and Dareck. Funeral arrangements in care of Aboriginal Funeral Chapel. Wake Wednesday, June 9, 7:00 p.m. to midnight with prayers at 8:00 p.m. Funeral service Thursday, June 10 at 10:00 a.m. Interment immediately following at Brandons Hillside Cemetery.
