Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN MISKIW After a lengthy illness on Monday, June 7, 2004, John Miskiw passed away at the Seven Oaks Hospital at the age of 78. John will be dearly missed by his wife, Elsie (Kachan). He also leaves to mourn, two brothers, Mike, Bill (Anne), both of Zhoda, MB; sisters, Sophie (Leon) Zaretsky of Swan River, MB, Anne (John) Wintoniw of Steinbach, MB, Mary (Peter) Sopiwnyk of Caliento, MB, Olga (late Morris) Marynowski of Zhoda, MB, Jean (late Eugene) Bilawski of Zhoda, MB, Doreen (Dennis) Tysoski of Winnipeg, MB and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, neighbours and friends. John was born on September 8, 1925 in Winnipeg, MB. He grew up in Zhoda, MB, son of the late Harry and Nellie (Stelmack) Miskiw. John found employment at Burns and John Buhler, which he retired from in 1990. John and Elsie were married in 1956 at St. Andrews Church in Winnipeg. John was a very kind and easy-going person. He loved nature and flowers, gardening was his passion. His yard was always beautifully kept. John enjoyed music and loved to dance. Thanks to all the neighbours and friends for all their help during this difficult time. The family would also like to express their heartfelt thanks to the dedicated staff at Unit 1, 5th floor of Seven Oaks Hospital. Prayers will be held on Thursday, June 10 at 8:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. with Divine Liturgy being celebrated on Friday, June 11 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, 737 Bannerman Ave. with a Basilian Father officiating. Interment to follow in All Saints Cemetery. In honor of their Uncle John the pallbearers are Jimmy Marynowski, Ernie Wintoniw, John Sopiwnyk, Ricky Zaretsky, Jarvis Wintoniw and Larry Kachan.
