DONALD LINDSAY Passed away, June 8, 2004 in the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 89 years. Donald was born in Elfrose, SK on April 29, 1915, and at four years of age he went to Kenora. While Donald was in Kenora he was educated at North Ward and Central Schools where he completed his grade nine year. In 1929 he moved to Winnipeg and lived in St. Vital with his mother Marg. Donald had a number of different jobs throughout the years. Starting with the Hudson Bay Mining and Smelting in Flin Flon for three and one half years, in 1933 he worked as an electrician for Stuart Electric, 1934 worked as an independent contractor for two years, 1936 was a baker for St. Andrews Bakery as well as in 1937 at St. Marys Road Baker for four more years and in 1941 he worked for Bryces Bakery for one year. Donald joined the army in 1942 and served for six months before being discharged due to a medical problem. He went back to Bryces Bakery for three more years before he started working for CNR where he worked for 30 years while running the St. Vital Cycle Shop from 1936 - 1957. A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 14 at 11:00 a.m. in the St.Vital Cemetery, the corner of River Road and Bishop Grandin Boulevard. THOMSON Funeral Chapels - 669 Broadway - 783-7211
