Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTHELMA DOROTHY CHAPMAN (nee ASH) Friday, June 11, 2004 at the Poseidon Care Centre at 78 years. Thelma was born in Winnipeg on November 5, 1925 and was predeceased by her parents, John and Margaret Ash; sister Evelyn Crothers; brother Gordon Ash; and beloved husband Art in 1994. Thelma leaves to mourn her daughter Catherine (Tom) son Robert and wife Joy; and twin 19 month old grandchildren, Brooke and Nicholas to whom she was "Nana". Thelma will also be sadly missed by numerous relatives and many friends she has made over the years. After her family was grown Thelma enjoyed her work as secretary of Regents Park United Church from 1975 until 1989 when she retired along with her husband Art. They together enjoyed long summers up at the family cottage at Grand Marais and winters cruising the Caribbean. The family gives heartfelt thank yous to the wonderful Home Care Aids that attended to Thelma while she was in her home and especially to the 5th floor staff of "Angels" at the Poseidon Care Centre who were devoted to her care in the short two months she lived there. Also thank you to Dr. Craig Hildahl, Drs. Pacin, Wally and Taraska and the staff of the 3rd floor MRU, 5th floor unit & emergency department of Victoria General Hospital. A memorial service to remember Thelma will be held on Wednesday, June 16 at 11:00 a.m. at Churchill Park United Church, 525 Beresford Ave., phone 452-8651.
