CLIFFORD JAMES (JIM) HALL Peacefully, surrounded by family, Clifford James (Jim) Hall, 81, died June 4, 2004 in Saskatoon, SK. Born June 29, 1922, Jim was predeceased by his loving wife, Betty in 2002 and his first wife May in 1982. Jim is survived by his daughters, Wendy (Art) Bloomfield in Winnipeg, Brenda (Richard) Stanton in Saskatoon and his son Scott Mapplebeck in Sacramento. He is also survived by grandchildren, Allan, James (Charmaine) and Victoria (Christopher Burke) Bloomfield, Sean, Evan (Alina) and Kiley Viloria and Rick Stanton. Jim was blessed with his first great-grandchild, (Celice) in January, 2004 and was looking forward to a second great-grandchild in August. Jim was born in Regina, SK and lived for many years in The Pas and Winnipeg, MB before moving to Saskatoon in 1981. He joined the Canadian Army as a young man and served in the Second World War attached to the British Army. Jim was a long time very proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion. Some of his Legion service included terms as the President of General Sir Sam Steele in Winnipeg, as President of the RCL Sports Federation in Manitoba and as President of Nutana Branch #362 in Saskatoon. Jim was a strong advocate for veterans and was always helping both individuals and organizations to enhance the quality of life for veterans. Jim was instrumental in establishing the Nutana Legion Museum. He took great pleasure in speaking with todays youth about the importance of remembering the sacrifices made by servicemen and women in times of war. A private family interment was held on Monday, June 7 at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. A celebration of Jims life and dedication to community service also took place on Monday, June 7 at 2:00 p.m. at Nutana Branch #362, refreshments followed, provided by the Ladies Auxiliary. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Archives Room, in care of Nutana Branch #362.
