ROBERT G. MCBEATH Robert G. was born December 27, 1930 in Raymond, AB, Canada and passed away May 27, 2004 in Richardson, Texas surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie McBeath; daughters, Susan Lawson, Gaye Proshek, Joanie Scott; son, John McBeath; ten grandchildren; brothers, Dr. Douglas McBeath, Mel McBeath and sister, Doreen Abbott. Bob graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology. He was a member of "Ducks Unlimited" and hunted in Canada for over 30 years. In his 39+ year employment with GSI, he travelled to every continent except Antarctica and visited 33 foreign countries. Making his and his familys home in five of them. Bob was honoured by being elected as a senior member of the Technical Staff at Texas Instruments. During his career he saw a complete change in the technology of the geophysical business including the move from analog to digital, from slide rule to computers, and the introduction of 3-D seismic. Bob loved his family and his many grandchildren brought him great joy. He enjoyed growing roses and doing wood work. Memorial service was held Tuesday, June 1, 2004 at First United Methodist Church of Richardson. "Good night, sweet prince and flights of angels hymn thee to thy rest."
