DOROTHY GROOM (nee PARKES) Suddenly on Friday, June 11, 2004, Dorothy Beatrice Groom passed away at her home. Dorothy was predeceased by her parents; two brothers, Dennis and Bill; and her son, David. She is survived by her husband, John; daughters, Lynore (Daniel) Adams and Vivian (Dale) Crawford; daughter-in-law Mary Ann; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; brothers, Bob and Ted; sisters, Helen of British Columbia and Betsey of Alberta; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was born and raised in St. James and moved to the North End once she married John, where they have lived for 58 years. She loved her hubby and spent many days together. Dorothy enjoyed knitting and spending time with her family. Dorothy was loved by all and will be sadly missed by all who knew her. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 16 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dorothys memory to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200 - 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
