SOPHIE SINGBIEL (nee MATTERN) November 15, 1920 - June 12, 2004 Peacefully on June 12, 2004 at the age of 83 years, Sophie Singbiel of Fraserwood, MB passed away at the Arborg Personal Care Home and went home to be with Jesus. Sophie was born on November 15, 1920 in Camper, MB. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Maria Mattern; her first husband Ben Ulrich; her brothers, Louie and Jack; her sisters, Katie, Mary, Minnie and Lena. Sophie is survived by her beloved husband August; her daughter Mary (Harold) Pfeifer of Balmertown, ON; her sons, Don (Kay) Ulrich of Okotoks, AB and Rudy (Beryl) Singbiel of Fraserwood; also eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; her sisters, Martha Linquist of Langley, BC and Lizzy Budge of Ashern, MB; as well as numerous relatives and friends. Mom had many friends and loved people. Her Christian commitment and love for God shone through by her concern for others, hospitality and generosity. She had suffered a stroke in 2002 which left her partially paralysed and speechless. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 17 at 1:00 p.m. at the Morweena E. M. C. Church, NW of Arborg. (3 miles W on No. 68, 6 miles N on No. 233, 5 miles W on No. 329) Pastor Glenn Plett officiating. A luncheon will also be held at the church. Interment will follow at 5:00 p.m. at the Peace Lutheran Cemetery.
