Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryESTHUR VIOLET ERICKSON 1935-2004 After a lengthy illness, Esthur Erickson beloved wife of Victor Erickson and dear mother of Laurel-Anne (Dean) and Frederick, and Amma to her only grandchild Cole, passed away suddenly at the Selkirk and District General Hospital on Wednesday, June 16, 2004. Esthur is also survived by her seven brothers and two sisters; Edward, Lloyd (Pat), Dennis (Judy), Donald (Irene), Raye (Beverly), Carter (Linda), Murray, Donna (Ron), Carol (Ron) and many nieces and nephews. She was a long time employee of the Bank of Montreal, having served for 42 years at various locations including Winnipeg, Trenton, ON, Marville, France and Selkirk. She enjoyed travelling and the opportunities to make new friends wherever her work and family settled. Esthur was a very caring and generous person, always ready to lend a hand and help her friends and those in need. She enjoyed the privileges of several organizations that allowed her to participate in helping others. As a member of The Royal Canadian Legion - Branch 42 Selkirk, The Over 60 Club of Br. 42, Past Matron of Chapter 35, Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter A of P.E.O. Selkirk, Bruin Chapter, Icelandic National League. A prayer service will be held on June 20, Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Gilbarts Funeral Home, Selkirk with memorial services on Monday, June 21 at 1:00 p.m. at the Selkirk Evangelical Lutheran Church, 329 Clandeboye Ave. at Jemima St., Selkirk. Cremation has already taken place and interment to take place prior to the service on Monday, Rev. Stan Richards will be the officiate. The family would like to express their appreciation to Janice Scott who missed only three days of visits to Esthur during her several months in hospital offering encouragement and hope during these trying times. The Home Care Workers for their dedication and assistance and the many friends who were so generous with their time and expertise to help understand the problems that Esthur experienced. Thanks to the Selkirk Ambulance Service, RCMP detachment members and the Emergency Hospital staff team headed by Dr. Dupuis for their dedication and efforts on Esthurs behalf. In lieu of flowers, it was Esthurs wish that anyone wishing to, donate to the Memorial Fund in her memory of the Selkirk Evangelical Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 65, Selkirk, MB R1A 2B1 Arrangements entrusted to Gilbarts Funeral Home in Selkirk.
