LUISE HANTSCHER After a brief illness, Luise Hantscher passed away peacefully and with her family by her side on June 15, 2004. Luise will be deeply missed by her daughters, Dagmar (Mark) and Heidi (Bob) son Dirk (Janie). Her grandchildren, Sean, Ryan, Matthew, Scott, Christopher, Ashley and Dane will always remember their wonderful "Oma". Luise will be forever remembered by her very special friend Adina (Werner) and many other close friends. Also left to mourn her passing are many family members in Germany. Born on March 30, 1932, Luise lived in Germany until she and Helmut immigrated to Winnipeg in 1957. She was truly a dedicated wife and mother who took great pride in being a "stay at home mom". Luise was an amazing cook and gardener and her family will miss her many culinary creations. Oma absolutely adored her grandchildren. Although she was firm and had high expectations, she showered them with love and attention. She especially had a weakness for Ashley, her only granddaughter. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, June 17 at 7:30 p.m. in Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy. No. 1 E. at Navin Road, followed by a reception in the Heritage Room. The family would like to thank the dedicated and compassionate staff at the Victoria and St. Boniface Hospitals who cared for Luise. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Manitoba Cancer Treatment and Research Foundation, ON109-100 Olivia St., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 would be appreciated. As much as we were not prepared to say goodbye to our mom and Oma, we are at peace knowing she has rejoined her loving husband Helmut and special grandson Cole.
