Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPEARL EMILY MATCHAM (nee HURST) Pearl Emily Matcham (nee Hurst) died on June 15, 2004. She was born on August 9, 1909 in Shoal Lake, MB, the youngest child of John and Hannah Hurst. She married Alfred Matcham in 1935 and they had one child, Ruth Ann. Together they operated a confectionery store in Shoal Lake and later a grocery store in Winnipeg. Subsequently, Pearl clerked at Portage Drugs and Westwood Drugs, supporting her family after Alfie became blind. She was a member of Rebecca Lodge, a seamstress, a quilter and a flower gardener. She was preceded in death by her husband and grandson Michael Robinson. Survivors include her daughter Ruth Brunner, Ellensburg, WA; grandchildren, Joe (Kristine) Robinson, Dutch Harbor, AK, and Cathy Robinson, Seattle, WA. She will also be missed by special friends, Dot and Ed Clupp, Bev Treble and Faith Johnston. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Canadian Guide Dog for the Blind (P.O. Box 280, Manotik, ON K4M 1A3).
