CAROLINE ZEBRYNSKI (nee ORBANSKI) Peacefully on Tuesday, June 15, 2004 our Mom and Grannie passed away at the Gimli Betel Home at the age of 92 years. Left to cherish her memory are her four children; Irene Shymko of Edmonton, Evelyn (Rudy) Kardashinski of Arborg, Jocelyn (Tony) Hayka of Arnes and Norman (Brenda) Zebrynski of Winnipeg; eight grandchildren, Elaine, Daniel and Deirdre Shymko, Leonard (Dawn) Kardashinski, Brent (Tina) Kardashinski, Ron Hayka, Lorne (Robin) Hayka and Glenn (Terrie) Zebrynski; nine great grandchildren, Jeffrey (Jennifer), Jennifer (Terry), Sheena, Charlene, Jayelle, Dallas, Steven, Brendan and Amber; two great- great grandchildren, Wade and Morgan; brothers, Stanley (Mary), Roy (Eunice heart. Mom was predeceased by her husband Walter (1965) son-in-law D) sister-in-law Olga and numerous nieces and nephews. Moms family was dearest to heron Shymko (1982), granddaughter Carla Zebrynski (2002), parents Joseph and Nettie Orbanski, sister Irene Hallick, brothers Frank, Paul, Mike and Walter; sister-in-laws Jean, Pauline and Rose. Mom was born and raised on a farm in Arnes. She married Walter in 1931 and together they farmed in the Finns District. Mom was a very hard worker, working along side her husband on the fields, haying and looking after cattle. After Walters death, Mom moved to Gimli. She was employed as a cook at the Betel Home until her retirement. She loved to cook and bake and she was very well known for her perogies, buns, doughnuts and bread. Guests at her home were always treated to these delicious treats. Mom had a magic touch with plants, especially hanging begonias. Mom was a very private and independent person, not relying on anyone until her health started failing her. In 1998 she became a resident at the Gimli Betel Home. Prayers will be said on Monday, June 21 at 7:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Gimli. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 22 at 10:00 a.m in the St. Michaels Roman Catholic Church, Gimli, MB with Fr. Art Seaman and Sister Cathy Laviolette officiating. Interment to follow in the Lady of Mercy Cemetery, Finns, MB. Moms grandchildren will act as her pallbearers. The family would like to thank the staff at Betel for their care and compassion shown to our mom. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave. Wpg, MB R3E 0V9. or to a charity of ones choice. Dearest mother you are sleeping, Free from sorrow, free from pain, Still your memory shall be cherished, Til in Heaven we meet again. A loving mother, true and kind, A beautiful memory left behind.
