Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARIA KOS January 7, 1927 - June 18, 2004 On June 18, 2004, Maria Kos, after a recent heart attack and a lengthy battle with diabetes, passed away in her sleep, at the St. Boniface Hospital, at the age of 77. Maria is survived by daughter Nadia; son Martin Jr. (Louise) and grandchildren, Sonia (Joe), Jason (Rhonda), LeeAnn and Jayme; great-grandchildren, Eric, Brandon, Nicole, Lucas and Coralee, as well as numerous relatives in Europe. Maria was predeceased by husband Martin Sr. in 1987. Born in Maribor, Slovenia, Maria came to Canada with Martin Sr. and Nadia in 1958 to make a better life. She worked in the healthcare field for 14 years at the Municipal Hospitals (Riverview), before a career change. She then worked at Motorcoach Industries for the next 20 years as a machine operator until she retired. Maria will be sorely missed by friends and family for her quick wit and sense of humour. We will miss you mom, oma, friend. Viewing and prayers to be held at P.Coutu & Co., 156 Marion St., Winnipeg, Tuesday, June 22, beginning at 6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke or Diabetes Associations of Manitoba.
