JULIA SPENCE (McGILL) It is with great sorrow that the family announce the peaceful passing of Julia Spence on Sunday, June 13, 2004 at Prairie View Lodge, Pilot Mound, MB. Julia received her schooling at Clearwater and later taught school for many years at Killarney, Koostatak, Portage and Brandon. She then became a Guidance Councillor with the Department of Indian Affairs until her retirement. She and her husband then retired to a home in Minnedosa. She spent the last nine months in Prairie View Lodge in Pilot Mound. She was predeceased by her husband James E. Spence; her sister Margaret and brother-in-law, Morris Watts. She is survived by two brothers, David McGill, Brandon, Gordon (Merle) McGill, Clearwater, four nieces and one nephew, plus three great-nieces and two great-nephews, along with many cousins and loyal friends. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on June 23 at 2:00 p.m. in the Clearwater United Church with the Rt. Rev. Stanley McKay officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Manitoba Cancer Society or a charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to Graham Funeral Services, Pilot Mound.
