Change in Time of Service COLLEEN PATRICIA SOMMERFIELD (nee CRAM) February 28, 1951 - June 18, 2004 Passed away peacefully at home after a long illness with ALS at the age of 53. Her memory will be cherished by her loving husband and caregiver Ken and her devoted daughter Leah. She will also be greatly missed by her parents, Francis and Wally Cram of Neepawa; brothers, Jack of Brandon (wife Marina, sons, Jason, Riley, Benjamin and daughter Kelly), Dr. David of Souris (wife Liz, sons, Jordan, Aaron and John) the Sommerfield family, Agnes and Ed Sommerfield; sisters, Carol (husband Jim Tomes), Cathy (husband Ron Kidd) and brothers, Roy (wife Cheryl), Don (wife Alison), Kevin (wife Leslie) and Mark and many nieces and nephews. She was born in Neepawa and attended school there from grade one through 12. A graduate of the University of Manitoba in Education and Social Work, Colleen worked as a teacher in the St. James Assiniboia School division in the classroom as well as in the areas of resource, guidance and reading recovery. Colleen had many passions in her life that included playing bridge, skiing and travelling with her family. She had many friends that she cared about. She always seemed to go out of her way to help others and even throughout her lengthy illness, actively involved herself with her family and friends. The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude for the exceptional care provided by her doctors and nurses. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 26 at the Charleswood United Church, 4820 Roblin Blvd., 832-3667 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Colleens memory to the ALS Society of Manitoba, 2109 Portage Ave., Rm.
