Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDUARD "EDDY" HAAK Peacefully, on June 20, at Bethania Personal Care Home in Winnipeg, Eduard "Eddy" Haak passed into the arms of our Lord. He is survived by his loving wife Louisa of 56 years; daughter Helen; son Harold (Linda) grandchildren, Pamela (Tom), Christopher, and Nina. He also leaves his brother Henry and numerous relatives in Canada and overseas. He was predeceased by his parents Hendrik and Helena. Ed was born on December 6, 1921 in Amsterdam, Holland. He learned his trade of pattern maker in Amsterdam where he met and married Louisa Boer in 1947. He and his wife immigrated to Canada in 1959, and became proud new Canadians in 1969. Ed worked in the foundry industry until the early eighties when he became a journeyman carpenter and found a position with the city of Winnipeg where he worked until his retirement in 1989 at the age of 67. He and his wife shared many wonderful trips together during their golden years and enjoyed time spent with family and friends. Ed was a devoted and loving husband and father who always gave freely of himself to his family and friends. He was much loved by his family and will be greatly missed. The family wishes to thank the staff of Bethania Personal Care home for their compassionate care of Dad during his final days. Special heartfelt thanks to family friend Suzanne Hrycenko for her care and support to the family throughout his illness. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bethania Personal Care home. Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held in the Chapel at Bethania Personal Care home, 1045 Concordia Ave., on Thursday, June 24, at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Gerhard Friesen officiating.
