HUBERT E. JETTE It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Hubert Jette on June 23, 2004, at the age of 73 years. Hubert was predeceased by his wife Jeanine (nee Cadorath) his parents, Marius and Anna Jette; brother-in-law Peter Zolondek; and niece Lorraine Foidart. He is survived by his four children, Diane of Dartmouth, NS, Neil (Tannys) of Winnipeg, Paul (Pat) of Calgary, AB and Carol of Santa Monica, CA; his grandchildren, Ian and Duncan of Winnipeg, Garrett and Danielle of Calgary. He also leaves his sister Jeanette Zolondek; brother George (Lynne) and numerous nieces and nephews. Hubert was born and raised in Transcona. He joined the CNR as a call boy at the age of 16 and progressed during 41 years as a locomotive engineer. He was past president of Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers Local 583. Hubert and Jeanine enjoyed their winters in Arizona where they founded the popular CN picnic in Mesa. An ardent sportsman, he pitched for the Transcona Junior Ball Club in the early 50s. Hubert was active in the CN Big 6 Curling Club at Fort Garry CC, umpired youth baseball and coached hockey at the Pirates Community Club. He was also an enthusiastic fisherman with his CN pals in the Minaki, ON area, as well as spending time at Bereton Lake. The family would like to thank Huberts special friend Diane Reid, Dr. Caners and the staff at the Concordia Hospital for their care and compassion. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Precieux-Sang Roman Catholic Church, 200 Kenny St. on Tuesday, June 29 at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Marcel Chaput presiding. Interment will follow at St. Boniface Cemetery.
