HARRY NORMAN MACBETH With his family by his side, Harry Norman MacBeth passed away on Wednesday, June 23, 2004 at the St. Boniface Hospital. He was predeceased by his parents, Mary Elizabeth and Roderick Norman; his wife Roxelena; and his eldest brother Donald. Left to cherish his memory are his son Gregory, his wife Kim and granddaughter Kelsey; his stepdaughter Diane Rennicks, her husband Donald and children, Pam (Ron), Sjana (Stuart) and Kyle (Leann) and grandchildren, Krystal, Kyle Jr., Hannah, Holly and Dawson. He also leaves his brothers, Cameron (Dorothy), Jack (Rose), Robert (Shirley) and his surviving sister-in-law Betty MacBeth; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Harry will be greatly missed by his pal and granddog Coleton. Harry was born at Birds Hill, MB on January 6, 1926. Harry spent most of his life residing there except for the time serving his country in the Navy in the Second World War. He was a hard working sole and touched many lives in his various endeavours. He owned and operated the store in Birds Hill, which included a liquor commission, restaurant, post office and grocery for many years. Harrys greatest passion was his family. He married Roxelena (Roxie) and together with her children, Robert, Bruce and Diane became a family. In the year 1957, Harry and Roxelena were blessed with a child of their own, Gregory. Harry enjoyed nothing more than spending an evening with his family and friends. In his retirement years he loved a good (or bad) golf game with buddies from the Legion. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Boniface Hospital for their excellent care over the many years. We would like to thank the staff on 5B for their compassionate care of our father and grandfather over the last two weeks. They were outstanding. Harry was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. He was a member of Birds Hill United Church which is family helped to construct. Following Harrys last wishes there will be no memorial service. We would like to invite friends and family to a "Come and Go" gathering to celebrate his life on Sunday, June 27 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. It will be held at the home of his son Gregory, 3571 Rebeck Rd., East St. Paul. Dear Grampa, Ill always love you and miss you - love your Kelsey. Arrangements entrusted to: VOYAGE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIUM 220 Hespeler Ave. @ Henderson Hwy. 668-3151

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Excuse my late condolences. Harry was a wonderful man to my family. I grew up knowing him at the local "corner" store in Birds Hill. It's sad knowing these community members are no longer there down the road at the store, at the garage, having coffee at the station. May you continue to RIP. Thank you for always knowing as a child there was always someone around you could count on should you need, as a child growing up in what was a small community.
