ETHEL McDONALD It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our Mother, Ethel (Turner) McDonald on Wednesday, June 22, 2004 in the Riverview Health Care Centre. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Maris Lynne Smith (Derek) of London, ON and son Keith Morrison McDonald of Winnipeg; grandchildren, Kelli-Anne Urquhart (Peter) of Nottingham, England, Ian McDonald of Vancouver, BC and Katie (McDonald) Ponce de Leon (Paul) of Newmarket, ON; great-grandchildren, Nicola, Thomas and Ivan Urquhart of Nottingham, England. Ethel was predeceased by her husband, Ian McDonald in 1968, and her brother George Turner of California. Ethel and Ian lived in various communities across western and eastern Canada while Ian followed his career with the Bank of Montreal, retiring in Toronto. They made many friends during this period of time and Ethel kept in touch with them all through the years, as she was a wonderful letter writer. One of Ethels loves was painting and many of her paintings are displayed in friends and relatives homes. A celebration of Ethels life will be held on Monday, June 28 at 2:00 p.m. in Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway. Interment will follow at a later date in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Toronto, ON. We would like to express appreciation to the wonderful, caring staff at Riverview 3 West, including Dr. Elizabeth Boustcha and Leonard Fabris; and a special thanks to our friend, Jill Leggett. Flowers are gratefully declined. If friends so desire, in recognition of Ethels love for children, memorial contributions may be made to the Khartum Shrine Transportation Fund, 1155 Wilkes Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3P 1B9.
