Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORGE RAYMOND GOWING George Raymond Gowing of Manhattan Beach, Pelican Lake, MB, passed away at the age of 87 years on Saturday, January 10, 2004 at the Wawanesa Care Home, Wawanesa, MB. He was predeceased by his loving wife Eileen on October 13, 2003. Ray leaves to cherish his memory his children, Chauna (Wayne) Maier of White Rock, BC, Blake Gowing of Moosomin, SK and Blain (Marlene) Gowing of Edmonton, AB; grandchildren, Shanley (Jonathan) Powell, Charlene, Kevin (Lacey) Maier, Charissa (James) Farmer, Danielle and Renee Gowing, Brandon, Tasha and Christopher Gowing. He is also survived by niece Dianne Harley and family, and nephew Darcy Gowing and family. Ray and Eileen met and married in Belmont and subsequently spent time in Brandon, MB; Cardston, AB; and Inuvik, NWT before settling in Edmonton in 1962. Eventually they retired to Manhattan Beach at Pelican Lake, MB where they spent many wonderful years with their children, grandchildren and the many friends they had met over the years. Cremation has taken place with Memories Chapel, Brandon and the funeral service will be held at Anglican Christ Church on Friday, July 2 at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Warren Marsh will officiate. Interment will follow in the Belmont Cemetery. Friends who wish may make a donation in memory of Ray to: Anglican Christ Church, Belmont, MB R0K 0C0, the Belmont Historical Society, Belmont, MB R0K 0C0 or to a charity of choice.
