DONALD (DON) EDWARD PERRY August 31, 1936 - June 24, 2004 Peacefully after a short and courageous battle with cancer Don passed away at the Riverview Centre on Thursday June 24th at the age of 67 years. Don was born and raised in Windsor, Ontario before joining the Royal Canadian Air Force and serving overseas in Germany and France. Upon his return to Canada he joined the CNR in Winnipeg as an electrician for 28 years. He also served as a Councillor for the City of Winnipeg for 9 years. Don and Muriel enjoyed camping and fishing together as well as travelling in their trailer across Canada. Besides his beloved wife Muriel of 45 years of marriage, remaining to forever cherish Dons memory are his three children, Janine of Saskatoon, Robert (Arlene) and Jill (Ian) of Ottawa; his two precious granddaughters, Amanda and Sharla of Selkirk; three sisters May Soper of Royal Oak, Michigan, Betty (Joe) Bonner of McKinney, Texas and Phyliss Ramsey of Windsor, Ontario as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Horace and May Perry and by two brothers, William and Robert. A Celebration of Life will be held in Dons memory on Wednesday, June 30 at 1:00 p.m. in the Sturgeon Creek United Church, 207 Thompson Drive. Interment will be held at a later date. Our family would like to express a personal thanks to the staff at the Concordia Hospital, Riverview Health Centre - 3 East - and the Home Palliative Care Nurses for their wonderful care and concern. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dons memory to the Childrens Wish Foundation of Canada (Manitoba Chapter), 350 St. Mary Avenue, Winnipeg, MB. R3C 3J2.
