THE MOST REVEREND EDWARD WALTER SCOTT, O.C.
Date of Passing: Jun 21, 2004
Offer Condolences or MemoryTHE MOST REVEREND EDWARD WALTER SCOTT, O.C. Archbishop Ted Scott's children regret to announce that he died suddenly in an automobile accident near Parry Sound, ON, on the afternoon of Monday, June 21, 2004. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Isabel, in 2000. He leaves his children, Maureen, Peter, Douglas, Susan, Patricia, Paul, Jean and David; his grandchildren, Jordie, Jessica, Katharine, Stuart, Lauryn, Danny, Brannan, Fiona, Victoria and Matthew; and his great-grandchildren, Gabriel and Isabella. He also leaves the members of his other families, especially the Birds, who shared our joy at the happiness Pop and Sonja brought to one another and now are sharing our grief; and the members of St. Simons Anglican Parish who were always part of Pops "family". Our three families, the Scotts, the Birds and St. Simons, all join in hosting a Vigil and Visitation for Archbishop Ted Scott at the CHURCH OF ST. SIMON-THE-APOSTLE, 525 Bloor St. E., Toronto, ON M4W 1J1, from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 27, and from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Monday, June 28. There will be a private family funeral later in the week. A Service of Thanksgiving for Archbishop Scotts life and achievements will be held at ST. JAMES CATHEDRAL, 65 Church St., Toronto, on Tuesday, July 13 at 10:30 a.m. Those who wish may make a gift in Teds memory to St. Simons Parish; the Primates World Relief and Development Fund, 80 Hayden St., Toronto, ON M4Y 3G2; the Alzheimer Society; or mark his passing with an act of kindness to the people you encounter each day, as he did all his life. Arrangements under the direction of the Humphrey Funeral Home - A. W. Miles Chapel, Toronto (1-800-616-3311). Please pray for Pop and for us all.
