GLADYS ROSE DUNCAN Peacefully on Saturday, June 26, 2004, Gladys Rose Duncan passed away with loved ones at her side. Gladys will be lovingly remembered by her sons, John (Donna) and Robert (Denise). She was predeceased by her husband John and daughter Donna (Dennis). She is cherished by her grandchildren, David (Leanna), Brenda, Rob (Debbie), Craig (Kim), Melanie (Ian), Cheryl, Shannon; and eight great-grandchildren, Matthew, Emilie, Courtney, Danika, Madeleine, Alex, Elijah and Ryder. She will also be missed by her sister Phyllis (Bert), sister-in-law Margaret Lyon and numerous family and friends. Gladys was born in Birtle, MB in 1918. She married John in 1941 and with the exception of a few years in Saskatchewan, lived most of her life in Manitoba. She was employed by Saan Stores for 27 years, beginning in personnel and retired as a buyer in 1983. She was an active member of Purchettes, served as a vice president with Soroptomists, and after retirement contributed her time and talents at Bleak House. Her family and friends will cherish memories of summers spent at Gladys cottage in Winnipeg Beach, where many great card games were played. Many heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Maples Personal Care Home. Your care and compassion will always be remembered. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at Kildonan Community Church, 2373 Main St. at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 29. The Rev. Brenda Fraser officiating.
