KURT STRASSEL Peacefully, surrounded by his family on June 27, 2004 at the age of 78, Kurt Strassel. Survived by his devoted wife Georgina (Georgie) sister Anne Strassel. He is also survived by his children; son Peter (Kathy) with granddaughter Jennifer Strassel; daughter Janice (Dale) with grandchildren, Kimberly, Anthony and Andrew Allardyce; son Kurt; daughter Elaine (Walter) with granddaughter Christina Ferjan; son Glen (Sherry) with grandchildren, Jonah and Tiana Strassel. Kurt was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Paulina Strassel. Kurt was born in Germany on January 24, 1926 and came to Canada with his parents as a young child. In 1948 Kurt married the love of his life, Georgie, and they were together for 56 years. Kurt worked in the family business, Manitoba Auto Spring Works until his retirement in 1998. Kurt enjoyed hunting and fishing out at his cottages in the Whiteshell. Kurt especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and will be missed by them. A private memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 30 at Glen Eden Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations in Kurts memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
