GUY J. PEREUX Guy J. Pereux passed away tragically in Squamish on Thursday, June 24, 2004 at the age of 26. Survived by his son Kadin Pereux of Richmond, BC; parents, Guy M. and Valerie Courchene of Winfield; brother Justin Pereux; grandmothers, Dora Courchene of Fort Alexander, MB, Yolande Pereux of Winnipeg, MB; aunts and uncles, Laura (Brian) Chikowski, Shirley Morgan, Joyce (Glen) Henderson, Audrey (David) Henderson, Velma (Brian) Fontaine, Theresa Courchene, Penny (Allan) Riley, Tracey (Larry) Guimond, Raymond (Janet) Pereux, Rene (Jane) Pereux, Alain (Margaret) Pereux; and several cousins. Sadly predeceased by his grandfathers, Alphonse Courchene and Alain Pereux; and uncle Hubert Pereux. Guy was a talented vital young father who adored his 20 month old son, Kadin, who was the love of his life. Guy was born in Winnipeg and moved with his family to Kelowna in 1985. He excelled in hockey and became an avid car enthusiast, making many long lasting friendships through the years. Later in Vancouver, his great strength and ability enabled him to succeed at his work in the challenging world of the tugboats on the Fraser River. This was endlessly fascinating to him and the source of many interesting stories in conversations with his family. He was hospitable and generous, always the first with an offer of help when it was needed. Guy was never too busy to call and keep in touch with friends and family. His style and congeniality lit up a room when he entered. Ever the optimist, nothing daunted Guy J., he grabbed life by the horns and lived it with great passion and joy and much sensitivity. His presence and his charismatic smile will live in our hearts forever. A celebration of Guys life will be held on Tuesday, June 29 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Rd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kadin Martin (Pereux) Trust Fund, in care of Rene Pereux, 1046 St. Marys Rd., Winnipeg, MB R2M 3S7.
