HARVEY PIPER It is with deep sorrow the family announces the passing of Harvey Piper at the age of 90 years on Monday, June 28, 2004 at the Concordia Hospital. Harvey was raised in Elmwood but born in Swan River, MB on March 5, 1914. He was employed by the Mutual Group for 42 years before retiring at the age of 62. He worked in several capacities ending up in Winnipeg as Office Manager. Harvey was acknowledged as a life member of the Life Underwriters Association of Canada for services rendered and had attained his C.L.U. degree. He was also a life member of the St. Andrews Masonic Lodge of Regina, SK and also a life member of the Winnipeg Chapter DeMolay Alumni. Harveys wife, Muriel predeceased him on December 16, 1990. He is survived by his loving family, son Grant (Pat), daughter Cheryl (Gordon) and son, Blake (Sylvia) grandchildren, Robert, Rhonda, Rebecca, Kyle and Troy; great-grandchildren, Devin, Desirae, Sydney and Ethan. He also leaves to mourn his passing his twin sister Ruth Sawney. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held Friday, July 2 at 3:00 p.m at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, friends so wishing may make a donation in Harveys memory to the Alzheimer Society of Winnipeg, 10-120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2.
