VASIL (BILL) HONCHARENKO It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Vasil (Bill) Honcharenko on Tuesday, June 29, 2004 at the Maples Personal Care Home. Left to forever cherish Vasils memory, is his wife of 50 years, Mary; two daughters, Gladys Caspick and husband Jack Snell of Winnipeg and Olga Short of Alberta; grandchildren, Darcy Letendre and husband Rick of Winnipeg, Jason Caspick and wife Sheri of Vancouver, Keith and Trisha Short of Alberta. Born in Belarus, Vasil immigrated to Canada in the 1950s. He worked at various jobs to support his family until he was able to devote himself full time to his passion of creating and repairing musical instruments, which he did out of his house on Heathrington Avenue. He specialized in accordions, which he played skillfully himself. His talent and craftsmanship are famous throughout North America, where his many customers will enjoy and cherish his works for years to come. Although he will certainly be remembered for his wonderful work, Vasil will be most fondly remembered for who he was. Even when his health would no longer allow him to enjoy his home and his work, Vasil remained an active, friendly and warm resident of Maples Personal Care Home, where he will be greatly missed by the staff and his fellow residents. A special "Thank-you" to all the staff and residents at the Maples for all their care, compassion and support. Prayers will be held on Friday, July 2 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 3 at 10:00 a.m. also at the chapel. Interment will follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. Vasils kindness, gentleness and generosity will live on, in all our hearts. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
