DORIS HNATIUK (nee MARKOWSKI) After a brief illness, Doris Hnatiuk of Ashfield, MB, aged 88 years, passed away on Tuesday, June 29, 2004 at the Selkirk General Hospital. Doris was predeceased by her parents, brothers, Ernie and Bill, husband Samuel, son Harold and daughter-in-law Diane (Clifford). Left to remember her is her son Clifford (Alyce) of Ashfield and daughters Tara-Lee and Stacy along with stepchildren, Hans, Kurt and Stephanie; daughter-in-law Irene of Creston, BC and children, Trevor and Suzie; and son Allan (Wendy) of Calgary, AB and daughter Alison. Doris was born in Ashfield and spent all of her life in the Ashfield/Kirkness area. Doris loved gardening and the outdoors. She always had a place for stray animals. The family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Dr. Fuchs and the medical staff at Selkirk General Hospital, especially "Crazy Suzie", for the very kind and compassionate care they provided Doris. Pallbearers will be Trevor Hnatiuk, Paul Hnatiuk, Kim Gowryluk, Ken Seligman, Barry Krichkowski and Jim Chamberlain. Prayers will be said at Gilbarts Funeral Home in Selkirk on Sunday, July 4, 2004 at 8:00 p.m. and the funeral service will be conducted at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church, 6297 Henderson Hwy. (Gonor) on Monday, July 5 at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow in the Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Cancer Society. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
