DAVID BAUMEL April 4, 1918 - July 2, 2004 On Friday, July 2, 2004, David decided it was time to be with his beloved wife of almost 57 years, Sonia, who passed away February 27, 2004. David and Sonia were inseparable and decided that they must go together and nothing would keep them apart. Once Dad was moved into the nursing home after Moms death, he knew he would no longer see her. Although Dad had dementia for many years and could not verbalize what he wanted to say, he still recognized people and was aware of what was happening. David leaves behind his son Sam (Liz) Baumel; daughter Lucy (Barry) Braverman; 11 grandchildren and three great-granddaughters. A graveside funeral service was held on Sunday, July 4, 2004 at the Shaarey Zedek Cemetery. Thanks go out to the staff at the Sharon Home North and special thanks go out to his personal caregivers whose patience and devotion kept him happy and content till the end.
