MARIE E. KORANICKI After a brave and courageous battle with cancer, Marie E. Koranicki passed away on Saturday, July 3, 2004. I am survived by my sister Annette and husband Danny Gougeon; nephew and godson Daniel (Liz) and boys, Matthew and Eric; niece Monique (Mirek) and girls, Mila and Madan; and sister-in-law Anne. I was predeceased by my mother Anna in 1982, my father Alex in 1973, my husband Eddy in 1992 and my brother Morris in 2003. I was born in Vita, MB on May 3, 1938. From 1958 to 1969 I worked for M.T.S. I joined Eddy in 1969 to operate the deli in Eddys Place in the north end. When Eddy passed away leaving me to operate the business myself, I would not have made it without the help of many friends, you know who you are. Due to illness in 1980 and failing health, I was forced to retire in November, 2000. I sure do miss my customers. A very special thank you to Dr. Lezack and the Angels of the Seven Oaks Oncology, for the wonderful care you gave me and also to the staff at Riverview 3 East. Thank you to all my caring friends, for the visits and constant phone calls to make sure that I was fine and for the many luncheons. I really appreciated it. A great big warm thank you to Diana and Norm Huggins - Diana for looking after me everyday and Norm for the rides and care and to Judy Pesclivetch for the care and company and being there for me, as well as Zina Schellberg and Irene Bachinsky. Thank you Wayne and Karen Whalen. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 7, 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Seven Oaks Oncology. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
