BERNARD YVES RICARD Peacefully on Saturday, July 3, 2004 at Riverview Health Centre, Bernard, beloved husband of Lorraine (nee Sabourin), passed away at the age of 73 years. Predeceased by his parents, Georges and Aurore; son Gilbert; and brothers, Felix, Euclid, Armand and Joseph. Bernard leaves to cherish his beautiful memory his wife of 52 years Lorraine; daughter Colombe (Marvin) Arneson; sons, Norman (Colette), Gerald (Doreen) and Rejean (Michele) grandchildren, Broderick, Garett, Kyle, Rebecca, Alec and Elizabeth. Also left to mourn are sisters, Emma Philippot, Cecile Lylack, Sr. Yvette Ricard S.N.J.M., Therese LeChasseur; brothers, Germain, Marcel and Denis. Dad was born in Ste. Anne, MB and lived there until the family farm was sold in 1948. Bernard met the love of his life Lorraine in 1951. Mom and Dad were wed shortly thereafter and have made their home in St. Norbert since 1960. Dad worked for Federal Pioneer Electric for 42 years until his retirement in 1993. In recognition of his dedication and quality of his work Dad was assigned to help train coil winders in Mexico, California, and Saskatchewan. Bernard was devoted to his wife and children and made sure all of their needs were satisfied. He enjoyed family camping trips and gatherings, playing cards, barbecuing, maintaining the house and yard, and lending a helping hand. Never one to sit idle, Dad would work persistently on a project until it was completed. For the last ten years Dad dealt with a number of health problems. His strength, courage and dignity throughout these adversities were an inspiration to his family. Even through his suffering, he was primarily concerned for the welfare of his beloved Lorraine. Our thanks to the staff at Riverview Health Centre, wing 3E, for their kindness, care and compassion. Funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, July 7 at 2:00 p.m. from the St. Norbert Roman Catholic Church. Interment of the cremated remains will follow in the parish cemetery.
