Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryA. WAYNE GABEL August 11, 1947 - July 4, 2004 Wayne Gabel passed away on July 4, 2004 after courageously battling cancer. Wayne is survived by his dedicated wife Barbara; and his three children, Kim, Harley and Brie (Chad McCrady). He is also survived by his sisters, Katherine (Walter Gessner) and Jeanette (Rudy Lewis). Wayne will be dearly missed by all his relatives, friends and family pet Trixie. Wayne was born in Melville, SK. He was an avid businessman in the confectionery and food industry. He began his career at the OK Economy Grocery Store in Melville. Wayne joined Nabisco Brands Confectionery in 1973, which took him to Saskatoon, SK, Winnipeg and North Delta, BC. In 1992 Wayne and Barb moved to Lethbridge, AB where they became the successful owners and operators of Plains Kandie Jobbers Ltd. Waynes many friends will remember him as a generous and sociable host, always ready with an entertaining story or joke. His customers and suppliers will remember Wayne with respect for his keen business acumen. Wayne was also well-respected by the many Hutterite Colonies throughout the Prairie Provinces, British Columbia and North Western United States. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 9 at 1:00 p.m. at Southminster United Church, 1101-4 Avenue South, Lethbridge, with Rev. Elizabeth Brown officiating. Interment in the Mountain View Cemetery, Lethbridge. A viewing will be held at Christensen Salmon Funeral Chapel, 327-10 Street South, Lethbridge, on Thursday, July 8 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Friends may meet the family on Thursday, July 8 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Christensen Salmon Funeral Chapel.
