Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryURBANA "BANA" LEGASPI ATANACIO July 8, 1934 - July 5, 2004 It is with deep sorrow that we announce the unexpected but peaceful passing of our beloved and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend on Monday, July 5, 2004. Urbana Atanacio was born in Pasong Buwaya, Anabu, Imus Cavite, Philippines on July 8, 1934 and immigrated in Winnipeg, Canada which she called her second homeland on March 26, 1987. She was predeceased by her parents, Suvero and Matilde Legaspi; parents-in-law, Alejandro and Generosa Atanacio; sister Saneng Purificacion; brother Denggo Legaspi; son-in-law Danny Leyba; brother-in-law Pecto Atanacio, Nano Atanacio and sister-in-law Cila Bernardo. She is survived by her husband Noli; children, Nita Leyba (Lei, Lyn, Dan Leo), Peth (husband Sonny; Kim and Jaypee), Resty (wife Lileth; Ken and Neil), Marie, Apin (husband Bani; Jeremae), Ovie (husband Pete; Kevin and Kathleen), Andy (wife Imelda; Aimee and Amanda) and Menchie (husband Arnel; Chinelle). She will be sadly missed by her surviving sisters, Ely, Victoria; brother Hemeniano Legaspi; nieces and nephews and cousins in the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, United States and Canada. She was known as a very loving mother, friend and sister in Christ; she was an active member of Senior Organization of the Filipino United Community Church. She loved working on her flower garden and loved preparing food for family and friends. She loved listening to CKJS and watching TFC; she loved singing gospel songs and hymns. Lamay will be held at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. on Saturday, July 10 at 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. and Sunday, July 11 at 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. Burial service will be held at FILIPINO UNITED COMMUNITY CHURCH, 1039 Pritchard Ave. on Tuesday, July 13 at 10:00 a.m., with Rev. Eduardo Capillar, Noel Lapatha, Rolly Vinluan and Rod Crispin officiating. Interment will take place at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens followed by reception. Pallbearers are Ramil Sarreal, Edgar Ramos, Mike Legaspi, Randy Viray, Jason Ferrer, Mario Nato, Efren Paredes and Henson Relleve. Special thanks to the staff of Health Sciences Centre Hospital as well as family and friends particularly to the members of the Filipino United Community Church, Anabu friends and to all who gave time to pray for her.
