Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOSE "JOE" LUMBIS MURILLO December 19, 1945 - June 30, 2004 It is with deep sorrow that we announce the unexpected but peaceful passing of our beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend on Wednesday, June 30, 2004. Jose Joe Lumbis Murillo was born in Iriga City, Camarines Sur, Philippines, on December 19, 1945. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Education at Mabini Memorial College in Iriga City where he met Salve, his wife of 29 years. In May of 1977, he immigrated to Canada. He was predeceased by his parents Faustino and Jacinta; parents-in-law, Maxima and Ingracio, and brother Otilio. He is survived by his wife Salve; children, Glenn, Daisy, Grant (wife Janis and beloved granddaughter Alyssa Kiara), and Grace. He will be sadly missed by his surviving sisters, Magdalena, Salome, and Rosario; nieces, nephews, and cousins in the Philippines, United States, United Kingdom, and Canada, as well as many of his close friends. Known as a gentle, loving, and kind soul, Joe was a devoted family man with a unique sense of humour. As a hardworking individual, Joe was a valuable employee at Holy Family Nursing Home for 25 years. He was an active member of the Bicol Association of Manitoba, Penafrancia and Cenacle Prayer Groups, and he served as a Eucharistic minister for St. Edwards Roman Catholic Church. He enjoyed singing, playing guitar, and watching hockey and boxing. Lamay will be held at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. on Thursday, July 8 and Friday, July 9 from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. Prayers will be at 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. on both nights. Mass of Catholic Burial will be held at St. Edwards Roman Catholic Church, 818 Arlington St. on Saturday, July 10 at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Vic Tungolh officiating. Interment will take place at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens followed by a reception. Pallbearers are Tomas Rivero, Polding Bobiles, Tito Alejandria, Romy De Luna, Leo Tolledo, Pedro Nolasco, Ramon Carranza, and Tony Sanchez. Honorary pallbearers are Allan Turner, Larry Pagdato, Michael De Leon, Melvin Navasca, Thomas Rivero Jr., Senen Salcedo, Vien Javier, and Camelo Llave. Special thanks to the staff of Concordia Hospital, Holy Family, as well as family and friends, particularly to the Penafrancia Prayer Group, Oscar Bersabe, Tessie Tena, the Alejandrias, Bobiles, De Lunas, Parados, and Medinas for their special support, care, and help during this difficult time. We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who came, prayed, offered masses, and paid respect to a wonderful man. God Bless!
