TERRY A. HATCH (nee MILLER) Peacefully on July 7, 2004, at the St. Boniface Hospital, Terry Hatch passed away with family at her side. Mom will be forever lovingly remembered by her daughters, Gail Patricia and Gwen Barbara Hatch, her son Dr. Grant Michael Hatch (Shellie), and her grandchildren Laura, Karen and Derek Hatch. Terry is also survived by her brother Walt Miller, Calgary; her niece Laurie Raynaud (Raymond) Katie and Niki; her nephew Stuart Henrickson (Jackie) Samantha, Jennifer, and Sarah; and her niece Leslie Hale (Michael) Kim, and Darren. Terry was predeceased by her parents, Lydia and Michael Miller, her sister Virginia (Jean) Henrickson, her sister-in-law Margaret Miller, and her nephew David Miller. Terry was born in Zhitomir, Russia on July 19. The year is unimportant as she always remained "young at heart". She worked at Eatons Mail Order until her marriage to Jim Hatch on September 17, 1949. Years later, circumstances and an incredible dedication to the well being of her family required her to change careers from a homemaker to a Sears Credit Officer. She became a member of and served as President of Credit Women International in 1971 and 1982, an opportunity that allowed her to travel to conferences and meet people from all walks of life. Terry was employed with Sears, Polo Park for over 25 years until her retirement in order to financially support her 3 children and mother. Times were tough but she endured with a positive attitude. She raised her children with unconditional love. Terry was a wonderful mother who helped her children achieve their dreams against all odds. She was proud of their accomplishments as a teacher, lawyer, and professor/researcher. Terry was a "gypsy" at heart and travelled extensively to all parts of the world from Australia, to Europe, Britain, Greece, and to her "heavenly paradise" of Hawaii. Terry treasured her friends and particularly enjoyed bowling, golfing, movies, and social outings with them. She was known for her famous hugs from the heart! During her illness, Terry appreciated the love she received from her friends through cards, letters, baking, flowers and gifts. Terry was a long time member of Sturgeon Creek United Church. She possessed a deep faith in her Lord which helped to sustain her during her illness. Gail, Gwen and Grant are grateful to Dr. John Foerster and his nurse, Thanh Ha, at the St. Boniface Hospital for their compassionate care. A celebration of Terrys life will be conducted on Monday, July 12, by Rev. Bill Corkum at Sturgeon Creek United Church, 207 Thompson Street, at 1:00 p.m. A reception will be held at the Church. Interment will take place in Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. In lieu of flowers, donations in Terrys name may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba or the St. Boniface Hospital and Research Foundation. "Love never gives up; and its faith, hope, and patience never fail. Love is eternal". 1 Corinthians 13: 7-8 ALOHA MOM!!!
