SOLOMON Peacefully, on the morning of Thursday, July 8, 2004, in the comfort of his loving wifes arms, Ross Solomon passed away at the age of 70. Besides his wife Zinovia, Ross leaves to mourn his sons, Roman (Maureen), Peter (Liz) and his adoring grandchildren, Mykaila, Alexa, Conrad and Trent. He also leaves to mourn his sister Celina (Walter) and sister-in-law Rose; nieces and nephews. Ross was predeceased by his mother Sophie in 1984, father William in 1986 and baby brother who died at birth. Dad was very involved with St. Mary the Protectress Ukrainian Orthodox Church, the Millennium Villa, U.N.F. and Veselka Summer Camp. Nothing pleased Dad more than spending time with his grandchildren and being outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He could be frequently seen riding his lawnmower at Veselka wearing his famous camouflage hat. Prayers will be sung at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, July 11 at the Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral of St. Mary the Protectress, 820 Burrows Ave. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 12, also at the Cathedral with Rev. J. Buciora officiating. Interment will follow in Glen Eden Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael Kapty, Greg Hollyer, Michael Powiada, Leonard Andrusiak, Brad Richlewski and Ernie Matichuk. The family would like to thank Dr. Taras Babick and the staff of Concordia Hospital for the care during Dads illness. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 109 - 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, R3C 0S6, or to a charity of your choice.
