SANDRA ARLENE WELLS
Born: Oct 30, 1945
Date of Passing: Jul 06, 2004
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySANDRA ARLENE WELLS October 30, 1945 - July 6, 2004 Suddenly in the early morning hours of July 6, 2004, our beloved mother and Nana passed away at the Grace General Hospital surrounded by her family. She is survived by her daughters, Leslie and Lori; her grandsons, Tavis and Zachary; her ex-husband John Walker; her parents Ernest and Olive Wells; her siblings, Gordy (Blanche), Lynda (Gary), Bev (Buzz), Gerry, Garry (Joni), Sheila (Alain), Billy (Lorraine), Nona (Sean) her godchild Charlene; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces and friends too numerous to mention but all very special to Mom. Sandra was born in Lachine, QC, and was raised in a beautiful home on St. Louis Avenue in Pointe Claire, QC. It was there that she met her one and only love, John Walker. They married on December 4, 1965, and together they raised two daughters. Although they divorced in 1988, they remained close friends. We would like to take this time to thank him for his continued love and support - it meant a great deal to Mom. Mom was especially proud of her two grandsons, Tavis and Zachary. She was very close to both boys, and they shared a special bond with their Nana. Whenever they were together there was always a lot of laughter. Sandra was an avid gardener, and this is evident in the many flowers surrounding her home. Friends and family have helped tremendously this summer to keep her gardens growing, and Mom was appreciative of everyones efforts. One of her greatest joys was looking out at the flowers and when able she loved sitting in the backyard admiring the view. Sandra worked for the North West Company, first in Montreal and then when the company moved to Winnipeg in 1993, she made the move with them. She loved her job and was devastated when she had to stop working in January due to her illness. She had fond memories of her time at work and made many wonderful friends. She would have celebrated 30 years with the company in December 2004. Her move to Winnipeg was made easier thanks to the kindness of her neighbours, especially Lois and Cory Godri, who have been very generous with their friendship, time and support. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Moms family, Dads family and all of Moms friends who rallied around her during her brief struggle with ALS. Their love and support gave her great strength and many happy memories. Fly Free, Mom We love you. Cremation has taken place. There will be no funeral or formal service as per Sandras wishes. There will be a private family gathering at a later date. Donations can be made in her honour to The Childrens Wish Foundation, 350 St. Mary Ave., R3C 3J2, or the ALS Society of Manitoba, N108 North Pavilion, 2109 Portage Ave., R3J 0L3. If tears could build a highway and memories were a lane, We would walk right up to heaven and bring you back again, No farewell words were spoken, no time to say good-bye, You were gone before we knew it and only God knows why. Our hearts still ache in sadness and secret tears still flow, What it meant to lose you, no one will ever know. Love you & miss you Mom, Dad, sisters & brothers & families. - Posted by: Lynda Wells (Family) on: Jul 07, 2005

A year has already passed since you left us. It was a great pleasure to be able to spend those few days with you Sandra. To be able to laugh and cry with you and talk of times gone by. I will never forget those last few days with you and your beautiful family. Being able to help in your garden that is now your resting place. You are in my thoughts always. Love, Sheila. xx - Posted by: Sheila Wells (Family) on: Jul 06, 2005
