JAMES BEVERLEY STITT 1921 - 2004 Peacefully on July 11, 2004, Jim Stitts spirit finished its mortal journey. Surrounded by his family, he bid farewell with love and dignity. Son of the late Wilson and Annie Eileen Stitt, Jim was born in Shell River, MB on May 12, 1921. He spent his early life on the family farm outside of Rossburn, caring for his beloved horses that kept him company until the end of his life. His 22 years spent working as a section foreman with the CNR were filled with pride. The respect and comradery witnessed by his coworkers demonstrated his compassionate, giving personality. Jim was one known to be able to talk with anyone, anytime, and anywhere. One of his fondest hobbies was gardening. Every spring he planted enough for both his family and anyone else that demonstrated a need. It was common to see people backing their cars up to the garden with the trunk lid open. Going above and beyond was part of his core principles. He cherished his church family and the support they gave him throughout various critical times in his life. He will be dearly missed by his loving wife Margaret (nee Murray) of 48 years; children, Louise Waldner, Marlene Fyfe, Valerie Onsowich (Ed), Dwain Stitt (Gloria Morriseau) and grandchildren, Lori and Mark, Andrew and Kevin, Mandy and Dylan, Kyetta, Kaylei, Keisha, Dominique, Brittany and Raven. He will also be missed by his sister Lois, and brothers, Clifford, Gerald, and Evan. Jim was predeceased by his parents and sisters, Florence, Dorothy and Shirley. The family would like to extend their heart felt thanks to the staff who became James good friends at Calvary Place Personal Care Home. Your caring was a special gift given day after day. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 14 at 11:00 a.m. at the Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave. at Aubrey Street. There will be a reception to follow in celebration of Jims life. Interment will take place at Roland Cemetery later in the afternoon. If friends desire, donations in Jims memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or Canadian Cancer Society.
