EVA KONIUCK (nee ANTOCHIW) May 30, 1909 - July 11, 2004 Eva Koniuck, at the age of 95, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2004 at the Tuxedo Villa Nursing Home in the city of Winnipeg, MB. Eva was born in Kuchubinchi in the Ukraine. She immigrated to Canada at the age of 12 with her sister Nettie (Nastya) Harwyst. Eva married Michael Koniuck in 1929. Her husband predeceased her by 24 years. Mike was a B&B Foreman for the C.N.R. and worked along side his two brothers Steve and Andrew. Albert and (Helen), Rudy and (Cecily), mourn the death of their beloved mother along with the rest of the extended family. Eva expressed great joy in witnessing the presence of her seven grandchildren (Margaret, Michael, Robert, Janet, Paul, Tanis and Randy) and 14 great-grandchildren. Eva lived most of her life in Winnipeg except for a few years in Victoria, BC. Returning to Winnipeg, Eva and Mike spent their last days in Winnipeg. Eva mourned the passing of her sister Nettie at the age of 93 and considered Natstya her proxy mother. Eva rests peacefully because of her expressed faith in Jesus Christ. Services, prayers and burial to be held on Thursday, July 15 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. No flowers or gifts, please.
