Bessie was predeceased by her husband, George in 1993, her sister Callie ( Bill) also Eileen and Bill Burton. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Doreen ( Don) Warford; and Joan Lagiewka; granddaughters, Deanne Lagiewka, Susan (Mark) Reiter, Janet Warford; great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Elizabeth and Sam. Also left to cherish her memory are many nieces and nephews and extended family and friends. Mother was born on December, 16, 1909 in Weyburn, SK. She married George on September 14, 1940. She especially enjoyed her music, dancing, bridge and her beloved pet, Carrie. Mothers greatest love and pleasure were her family and friends. She was indeed a devoted wife, a wonderful loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Mother was a true friend who always saw the good in people. Her kindness and sweet mannerisms left an indelible impression on all who knew her. Mother was a very special and remarkable lady who we all love so dearly. Bessie was a faithful member of the Anglican Church and loved singing hymns. A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 16, at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. with a reception to follow. Flowers will be graciously accepted.
