Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT ARTHUR (BERT) HUTTON February 21, 1911 - June 21, 2004 Longtime resident of The Pas, Bert Hutton, was born Tuesday, February 21, 1911, at Ile A La Crosse, SK to William and Honora Hutton. Bert received his high school education at The Pas, and furthered his education at the University of Winnipeg. Through the years, Bert resided at Ile A La Crosse, SK, Carrot River, SK, Red Earth, SK, and The Pas, MB. Bert was united in marriage to Claire Charbonneau at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cathedral, The Pas, July 27, 1939, and through this union were born three children, Claude, Roberta, and Tanis. After Claires death, Bert married Lorrie Newstead, (nee Guymer), March 6, 1976 at The Pas. Bert passed away peacefully, Monday, June 21, 2004, at St. Pauls Personal Care Home, The Pas, at the age of 93 years. Bert is survived by his wife, Lorrie; children, Claude (Judith) Hutton, Roberta (Robert) Ruda, and Tanis (Craig) Asselstine; seven grandchildren, David Hutton, Janis (Remi) Cousyn, Luke (Samantha) Hutton, Trevor (Lisa Fladager), Michael Ruda, Jeffrey Asselstine, Terence Asselstine; two great-grandchildren, Gabrielle and Camille Cousyn; stepchildren, Barb (Dave) Birtles, Betty (Roy) Lycar, Nancy (Elias) Shewchuk; ten stepgrandchildren, Tannis Birtles, Shawnelle (Lowell) Davis, Cherilyn Birtles, Nathan Birtles, Rob Lycar, Ryan Lycar, Melanie (Rob) Wiseman; Joel (Amy) Shewchuk, Tim (Julie) Shewchuk, Debbie Shewchuk; six stepgreat-grandchildren, Caleb Lycar, Ethan and Eli Shewchuk, Jordan Wiseman, Garret and Amber Davis; and other relatives. Bert was predeceased by his parents, William Hutton and Honora (Adam) Hutton Hyslop; his first wife, Claire (Charboneau) Hutton; his brothers, Leslie, Alistair , and Edsel. Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday, June 24, 2004, 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cathedral, The Pas, MB, with Fr. Paul Bringleson presiding, assisted by Rev. Woodrow Ruten of The Pas Alliance Church. The Organist was Berts daughter, Tanis Asselstine. Music Ministry: Teresa Pidskalny and Theresa Vogel, and choir members. Memories of the heart were given through music by Berts daughter, Tanis Asselstine and Berts grandson, David Hutton. David played the violin; Berts son, Claude Hutton; and friend of the family, Avery Ascher; Scripture: stepson-in-law, Elias Shewchuk; Gifts, Berts granddaughter, Janis (Remi) Cousyn and great-granddaughters, Gabrielle and Camille Cousyn; Guest Book, grandson, Michael Ruda. Following the interment prayers at Riverside Catholic Cemetery, everyone was invited to a reception at the Guy Hall, The Pas. The Pallbearers were Berts grandsons and granddaughters, Luke Hutton, Trevor Ruda, Tim Shewchuk, Melanie Lycar, Jeffrey Asselstine, Deborah Shewchuk The Honorary Pallbearers were Berts grandchildren; great-grandchildren: and Pete Marchenski, Frank Saskowski, Phil Bachnick, Bob Garand, Reg Dorian, Jack Johnson, Jim Simes, Bob Seidel, Don Zaharia, Mannie Godin Ernie McNaughton, Jean Zetterstrom, Marie Moen, Gladys Lajambe.
