JESSIE "ALICE" ROBINSON Jessie Alice Robinson beloved wife of Glen passed away on July 14, 2004 at the Grace Hospital after a lengthy illness. Alice was one of eight children born to John and Jessie Mills in Corning, SK. In 1936, amid depression and drought, she and her siblings together with their widowed mother moved to Swan River, MB to make a better living. There she completed her education and in 1942 she came to Winnipeg to seek employment with her friend Marie and there she met and married Glen Robinson. They had a long and happy married life, took many trips together to the states, Hawaii, and to both East and West coasts. She leaves to mourn her passing her loving husband Glen; two sisters, Marjorie Stonehouse, Anna Beaumont; in-laws, Joy and Frank VanDusen, Conrad and Merle Robinson, Carol and Don Bateman, and Joyce Campbell; best friends, Marie and Jim Hogg; plus many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; and five brothers, Jim, Albert, Edward, Leslie, and Robert. Her home was always open to anyone who came to visit and she always made them feel welcome. She was a great lady and will be sadly missed by all who were fortunate to have known her. Thank you to Dr. Breckman, Dr. Mesak, the nurses at the Grace Hospital and Hospice, and the Home Care workers for making her life a little easier. As per her request, cremation has taken place and there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire donations may be made to the Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7. Graveside service at a later date.
