Many years later I hear of Ike's passing, owing to the reach of the internet. I did not really know Ike personally but I met him in the 90's through curling with his son, Rod. My one and only encounter with Ike left me with a lasting impression, one that I still reflect on: it was during a bonspiel with Rod and we had stopped at his house for a short break between games. I recall the first thing that happened is Ike saying "Have a seat boys! You must be hungry", and proceeded to whip us a nice lunch that we were very grateful for. I know it's a small gesture but that welcoming experience and Ike's eagerness to please stood out for me that day. Sometimes it's the small things that stand out in life. Thank you Ike. RIP. Peace to your loved ones. - Posted by: Alan Grant (Curling friend of Rod's) on: Mar 27, 2021
